website not working with leading www
Hi, just wanted to let you know that http://www.usenetexplorer.com seems to be broken (http://usenetexplorer.com works). The links within UE (Help - About - Homepage) however refer to the www one. Seems to be a DNS Issue ... I can ping usenetexplorer.com and can't ping http://www.usenetexplorer.com ...

autodownload /incomplete parts
Hi ... Maybe it's a dummy question .. but let's see. I have configured my UE do auto download of headers every 60 min. And of auto downloading everything, which is posted on a particular newsgroup. In the old NP days I checked the que from time to time and did delete the messages I don't need, which...

Re: restoring / resetting the database
I solved the "issue" (which is NO issue by NewsPro, more by other programs, which sometimes force my PC to a restart by a bluescreen) for me. I wrote a little tool (I called it NewsProKeySender), which waits for a window with the title "Restoring Database" and presses Enter autom...

Yes, both drives were Maxtors. I'll have to investigate this further. Thanks for teh heads up. I did have a similar problem with two maxtors... My solution was, to connect both to different controllers an both to master (primary and secondarry). You could try to change cable from CD/Burner and the ...

sorting articles by download priority
Hi ... another suggestion: It would be really nice, if there would be another cloumn in the newsgroup window. I think it would be really usefull to see the download prioroty (from 1 to 16) and be able to sort the articles for this one. (Articles, which not yet get downloaded could have for instance ...

more than one proxy-server per news-server?
Hi, I have some news-servers, where I need to access through a proxy server, which works really fine with NewsPro. The only problem is, that sometimes a proxy-server is down or overloaded. It would be really nice, to have the opportunity, to enter more than one proxy-server per news-server. So if on...

combining two binary atachments of the same source
Hi, I have a small question. Is it possible, to combine two binary atachments of the same source? The reason, why I would like to do this: I downloaded a file, which did have missing parts. The reposted file did have as well missing parts, but it has been other parts. Is there a way, to build a thir...

restoring / resetting the database
Hi, sometimes it happens, that my PC crasches to a bluescreen, so all Programs includung NewsPro get terminated. When the PC is started again, Newspor asks me if I want to restore or to reset the database. Normally a restore does the job fine. What I really woul apreciate, would be an option (for in...

there is the option properties->tasks (it may move to properties->general in the future), retry failed articles every x minutes, but better set it to 60-90 minutes at least, since usually the failure cause persists and if you set it to several minutes it will occupy task slots with relentless retry...

To sum it up: If an article is available on a higher priority server then it will always come from that server unless it is somehow disabled or it has reached its max tasks. If you enable 'Strict' then the article will always come from that higher priority server as long as it is enabled. Cool :-) ...

please do not restrict Message ID direct only lo attached servers. There are servers, which don't have the newsgroup in their list, but they have some the articles. Example: newscache0.freenet.de to newscache5.freenet.de If the unction would be restricted only to attached servers, the newsache serve...

suggestion for new feature
Hi :-) First of all: I love NewsPro... I extensively use the ability to autodownload attachments of one newsgroup as well as the function "Message ID Direct". I realized, that often NewsPro downloads parts only from one Server (the one where i get all the headers from) ... Well, thats ok a...
