two more things that would make the scheduler more useful:

--have an option to turn it off for a limited time (like the pause button)
--have an option to enable the scheduler on startup of the application (like the "disable on start" feature)

Thanks Alex as always!!! But I disagree that it's easy to use... it's not intuitive at all. Also, this will only be good for 6 months and then UE will forget my settings and I will have forgotten (again) how you're supposed to set them up. It seems like there should be a better way to schedule the d...

Hello, me again... just wondering if you've thought about maybe adding this feature to UE. I use nzb files a lot and I have UE automatically name the download directory, but it appends a ".nzb" still at the end of the directory name which just doesn't make much sense. I tried newsbin pro w...

Hi, I was just perusing around here again wondering if there was any news on the scheduler. It sure would be nice to have a proper scheduler built-in. My ISP throttles my bandwidth from 5pm to midnight and I'd like to just configure UE to not download anything during this time, or at least throttle ...

Ok, well I think I figured it out... despite not having any clue how to configure the scheduler (it's not very intuitive and the help notes didn't well... help), I set up every day in the list to throttle between 16:00-24:00 (that took a bit of trial and error)... seems like that interface needs a l...

time-based bandwidth throttling

Hello all, I have another new feature to suggest. Many ISP's (mostly Cable ones) are starting to throttle bandwidth at certain times of the day. My provider throttles my connection from 4PM to 12PM if I've hit a certain download threshold over the past 24 hours or something... I go from 8megs to 2me...

I think your system is excellently designed... I just think it needs two enhancements: 1) strip off the .nzb at the end (this is more of a personal preference, but I believe it's a good one since the actual "title" of the nzb "post" shouldn't include the extension) 2) show a warn...

I think the directory length problem is actually a full path length problem in windows... can't exceed 255 characters or something... it can be especially bad in XP if you use your desktop for downloads (C:\Documents and Settings\username\Desktop\Downloads\LONGASSNZBSTRING\LONGASSUNPACKSTRING... etc...

I believe you can turn off the prefix though... just not the .nzb suffix. :(

Remove ".nzb" from folder names

Hi, I've swapped a couple e-mails in the past with Alex about this and he suggested I bring it up in the forums. I love how Usenet Explorer can automatically download and save .nzb posts into their own folders etc... but it's really annoying that all the folders have ".nzb" at the end of t...

Thanks for your reply. I don't see any applicable option for what I'm trying to do. Here's what happens... I launch an nzb file and UE is set to automatically download and save it to an automatically-named folder... So say I'm downloading something called "Foo" it saves it to a folder call...

can I remove the .nzb "extension" on auto folders?

Hi... I figured out how to remove the prefix from my save folders, but I'd also like to get rid of the ".nzb" at the end of the folder name. Is this possible? I couldn't find anything out from searching these forums and if it's already in the GUI, I completely overlooked it.

Thanks!
