Do you have a firewall running? The search service IP address may have changed recently and your firewall, if you have one, is blocking it and you need to update it to be allowed.

Try using the SuperAdmin account.

I find it's best to avoid using Program Files in Vista, especially with UAC turned on. Run UE from a different location, even Documents is better, create C:\Usenet Explorer or run it from a different drive or partition.

It may be related to the recent thread on external hard drives. Alex tweaked it but there may be something else that needs looking at. Do you or have you ever saved to an external drive? Or maybe you've had an external drive attached while you were using UE which is now disconnected. If you haven't ...

Check that the drive you're saving to has enough free space (listed in Properties->General->Suspend tasks when... on the bottom right). If the free space drops below that amount then the save queue will suspend until you free up more and then unsuspend the queue.

Agreed. Go into your firewall and either set it to ignore changed executables for UE or delete it, run UE again and re-add it when you get the popup. Then you should be back on your Stairway to Downloading.

Properties->Save/Unpack->Unrar, uncheck 'Derive name after RAR'. The default there (when this setting is unchecked) is 'Unrar' but you can change this.

Your assumptions are all correct. Except for the one on server supplying headers. The only thing left to do, really, is to back up your Settings directory and create a new default install or run UE on a fresh computer with defaults. All that's different from your side is your settings. I had a mome...

I've been busy for a couple of days so now I can think about this in a slightly different way. Do you have UE set to extract RARs? I've skimmed through the thread again but you only mention that the RAR does not download - nothing I can see about unpack. Do you use the same server every time to grab...

Like I said before in this thread... I missed that. Sometimes I check with my PDA when I'm out on the road and scrolling up and down can be a bit jumpy. At least that now confirms for me the different settings match what I see in my setup and that it's not some result of an obscure setting, as you ...

This has been one of my feature requests for a long time now so it's been mentioned before. Though, as you'll know, Alex tends to focus more on the internals before adding fluff. So I'm just here to second the idea (again) - just in case Alex forgot...

jonib, if you look at those headers would you confirm that: Clicking 'Show collections' on its own shows the RAR and the two PARs in two separate collections. Clicking 'Show custom collections' puts all three into the same collection. Clicking both 'Show collections' and 'Show custom collections' to...

Looking at this again I might have misread it. Did you download the files and the RAR ended up missing or is it that by just reading through headers the RAR was not listed as part of the collection? What was enabled - Collections and/or Custom collections? You say you downloaded the whole lot but th...

Which OS are you using? What is your initial (root) save path? It downloaded/extracted fine for me but, as ever with these stupid posts, these RARs contain directories inside them. When UE extracts, the extra directories can create paths that are beyond the acceptable OS limit. For example: '\UltraI...
