Re: Usenet Explorer Automatic Updater
I downloaded the new Updater and then it updated UE. OK. From what are you moving? What do you run PC Yarn in at the moment? I would suggest Win7 XP Mode but there are conflicting reports on 16bit software compatibility. It's worth a try. Failing that, try a copy of Win9x in a virtual machine. At l...

Re: Usenet Explorer Automatic Updater
Hmm... I never realised there might have been a new version. It just shows that I only launch UE through the updater these days and I have update checking turned off in UE because of this. The Updater still notified about a new version, but it just couldn't download. That's how I discovered the pro...

Re: Usenet Explorer Automatic Updater
I have updated the UE updater to 0.53. Updated it to use the correct http://www.usenetexplorer.com URL.
The updater was using the old URL so it didn't work anymore.
Is there any interest for a 64bit compatible version?

Re: database too big
First thing I would do is to check that any binary newsgroup uses the Compact binary database type. (To check rightclick on a newsgroup Advanced->Rename) If it's still too big you need to limit the retention on big groups. Main menu->Edit->Properties->Newsgroups adjust the Retention/Dates [range] se...

Re: Automatic unload groups when closing UE
But when I close UE without manually unloading the groups UE keeps their status on next launch. So when it start he'll trash the HD loading all the groups opened on previous close. Well that is the point of Persist to remeber if it was loaded or not. Basically I'd like to keep groups loaded when I ...

Re: NZB Watch Folder
Is it possible to automate import / auto d/l of nzb files? Yes Say watching a specific folder for nzb files, when they show up it auto imports and starts the download with autonaming etc, In UEs database directory there is a directory Import , place the .NZB there and UE will import it if running. ...
