very simple Feature Request

Post by BearCan »

News servers accounts are obtained through web sites. Once an account is establish most places allow us to login and with a few clicks to change our accounts. Problem is this happens maybe twice a year and we forget or lose our login information.

I'd like to see a note box associated with each server where I can place this information and other notes about that server.

If you want to take it one step further make a button where we can auto login from UE. (pass the http and log info to our web browser)

A place where we can put auto login info for UE web site would be nice too.

thanks

in all programs passwords are usually not shown. if you like you can append userid/password to the server nick, then if you invoke advanced->rename in the server context menu you can copy this info.

as to UE forum website browser keeps them in cookies if it doesn't work try to reset/delete cookies.

I already do the rename trick. now my pass shows up in the server list.

your not quite understanding what I'm asking either.

besides a server having it's own login the web page where I
get more credits for that server has another login. in my case
the two are not the same. I probably use the web page login
twice a year so I tend to lose track of it.

I'm just asking for an encrypted note box to be associated
with the server so we can place notes about the server.
I have accounts with nine places. not all are active for various
reasons. I tend to forget why I'm not currently using that server.

sounds like you need a password manager with notes. I personally put my info in my outlook contacts in a password encrypted PST file.

so, for example, giganews would have a contact entry and the user/pass and any other notes would be in the contact info.
