Don't know what happened, but when I dowloaded a group of headers the program deleted a bunch of headers of each collecectiion from Jun 08 2012 to today.
I need rescan headers but I don't want to download since August 2008 and I can't change the retention cause I have pending headers to download since October 2010
What can I do?
How can I rescan the last two or three months of headers
Re: How can I rescan the last two or three months of headers
Maybe first to back up the database (copy database folder somewhere).
Then edit menu->properties->general ensure retention, "quick" is checked and maybe uncheck "let all incoming headers through".
Then edit menu->properties->newsgroups set new retention e.g. 90 (90d, days), and "the rest" set to "Retain".
Download headers (if your server has headers consistent enough you see it downloading only reasonable header number).
Then change retention to the old retention, it will ask whether you want to redownload older headers, choose no.
If it lost only small files, uncheck edit menu->articles->cache small article bodies, so they will be more likely restorable in the future.
