installing problems

Post by NewProFriend »

Hi,

I have installed NewsPro on a 2nd HD which had 3 parts of different sizes. I have just played aroud to learn more about NewsPro, read infos in this forum on "it take a lot of HD space for lots of data keeping etc.

So I decided to format the 2nd drive again and giving NewsPro more HD space. Then I installed News Pro again- so far so good BUT:

after I have extraxted NewPro and wanted to start the.exe flie a message came up:

could not open J:\Data\cnt.dat and nothing happend anymore since that time.

I have bought News Pro. I am not using the trail version /not anymore.

If you can help, please be easy on me. I am not an expert and english is not my mother toung.

Thanks in advance for any help.

run regedit and delete

HKEY_CURRENT_USER/SOFTWARE/albir

then newspro will ask for a database directory when you start it.

maybe it should check whether the database partition exists, it is several minutes to add.

i changed it in v3.76 so it won't go now for database to non-existing partition or CD drive and will ask for the directory right away.
