Before I found out they hadn't really dropped msg-id's, I tried to modify the code to load nzb's in another iframe, but all the browser would do is ask for a place to save each one - not load it. There's no way I could figure out to get them as xml - the browser considers them foreign files.
Oh, and if I do indexing (like newzbin or a.b.nl), then yes there would be bandwidth issues. I lease a server at Rackspace and I get 30 "free" gigs a month of which I currently use about 10. If usage goes over 30 gigs a month, then I have to buy more gigs in 50-gig chunks, I think (been a while since I checked) and their price isn't the cheapest by a long shot.
One reason for me doing indexing myself is every time a change is made at a.b.nl, I have to redo my code. It's dependent on someone else's whims. Another - at present, a.b.nl only indexes 84 groups. I'd probably index at least the top 1000 most active groups.
