Would it be possible to make the "Clear" button on the quick filter toolbar also clear the initial filter for that group/folder/session? I have an initial filter to only view the new messages (I mark all old after perusing each group/folder), but if I find I missed something I would want to download, I have to go into properties to change the initial filter before I can apply a quick filter to find the missing pieces. I think that NP worked that way.

There is a button in the toolbar which toggles the initial filter on or off. So it is very easy to turn it off. You can even asign a keyboard shortcut to it.
