Long message subjects

Post by Tipperton »

Currently UE displays subjects that are too long to display like this:

Beginning...Ending

Is there a way or an option to display it like this:

Beginning...

(in other words, I'd prefer if it displayed as much as it could leaving off the end of the subject rather than taking out the middle of it.)

it is automatic, if the message seems to be an attachments ue displays it as it is, if not it displays it like you want.

i didn't define an option, since in such a way it is very easy to add maybe fifty or sixty switch boxes, and they still won't cover everything.

How about just a single option called something like "Truncate long subjects", for the subject:
This is a very long usenet message subject
If it's not checked UE would display
This is a very lo...age subject
(or however it does it now), if it's checked UE displays:
This is a very long usenet...
or even
This is a very long usenet me
I'm suggesting this because, most of the time, the part of the subject that get's trimed (the middle) is the part I'm interested in. And it's kind of an anoyance to have to hover over it to see the missing part.

i'll finish with indexing soon, then i'll check what can be done about small requests in the light of the situation then (now i'm only working on code, don't check anything else).

That's fine by me.... It's just a convenience feature I'd like and not that important in the larger scheme of things....

UE is fantastic, keep up the great work!
