i just reset the database on my setup. in the newsgroup pane (where all the newsgroups are shown w/ [xxx] i assume the xxx is the number of messages.

i have one showing now as a.b.c.i.c [2306]

when i open this newsgroup up, i only see three messages. why does newspro say there are 2306 messages in this newsgroup?

They are probably parts of incomplete binaries. If you diable autosupport for partial messages, you should see the rest.
