Please help with NewsPro problem

Post by aida »

Hi I thank you so very much for any help you may give me!!!
First,I'm not a technician. What I am going to communicate may be incorrect but I have a theory. It's based on logic
I think I have a virus on my machine. I believe it may be the Destructor Virus. What I have to so far to test the theory;
1.Run my updated Norton Anti Virus in Safe Mode and also from my Desktop.
2.Ran Panda Anti Virus Web Site Scan
3.Ran Mcafee Anti Virus Web Site Scan.
4.Downloaded and utilised the Mcafee Stinger Tool from my desktop.
5.Went to MS Config and utilised selective start up at one point and then at another point Diagnostic start up then ran Norton again from my desktop

ALL of these say I have no virus on my machine.
But some of my programs are acting weird.
Especially my BlackIce Firewall
And lastly I notioced this text with the Registered News Pro ErrorLog.txt

CTaskManager::PostQuitMessage
CHeaderProcessor::PostQuitMessage
CMainFrame::Waiting for threads to exit
CTaskThread::ExitInstance
CHeaderProcessorThread::ExitInstance
CMainFrame::Finally exiting from the main thread
Main Thread::ExitInstance
CProperties::destructor
CBackup::destructor
CUniCheck::destructor
--Logout--
--Login--
TaskManager Created
HeaderProcessor Created
CNewsProApp::Start
CMainFrame::Posting WM_SHUTDOWN
CTaskManager::Posting WM_SHUTDOWN
CMainFrame::OnShutdown
CHeaderProcessor::PostQuitMessage
CTaskManager::PostQuitMessage
CHeaderProcessorThread::ExitInstance
CMainFrame::Waiting for threads to exit
CTaskThread::ExitInstance
CMainFrame::Finally exiting from the main thread
Main Thread::ExitInstance
CProperties::destructor
CBackup::destructor
CUniCheck::destructor

I presupposed that if I did have a virus maybe NewsPro may have been where it was introduced in my system.

Can anyone tell me if I am simply waaaay off base here and that I should not be concerned OR is this something I should be worried about?

Many thanks
Aida

you checked properties->general->error log, then newspro puts additional info in errorlog.txt, it is rather log, nothing to worry about.
