Proxy connect failed errors?

I quite often get "Proxy Connect Failed" errors when downloading headers from newsfeeds.
Is there any explanation for this or might I have something configured incorrectly on my end?
Any thoughts on this matter would be great.
thanks

if you define a proxy within newspro in properties->proxies - newspro supports the standard proxy protocol, if there are errors it just reports them.
you can try to increase the number of retries in properties->servers, keep-alive shouldn't matter since in the case of such an error the connection is closed anyway.

Does somebody know of a proxy that is for free, fast, and does not change in time?
Then I could use that one.
I am not good enough to find these things myself.

And by the way:
is it very useful for me to have a proxy?
Because i have a pay server: newscene.com.
If i download from that pay server, my identity (IP) address is hidden for other people I suppose. So only newscene knows about me.
So using a proxy would only make downloading much more slower, i think.
If legal authorities would like to know who is downloading, they only have to ask newscene and they would tell.
