Ive recently installed the trial version and noticed today that it makes a http connection to www.netwu.com when running.

I cant find anything explaining why it would do this in the help or from a quick browse of these forums.

Why is it doing this? is it an auto-update system? is it a piracy check?

There is an update check.. that you can disable in options->general.

yes, just uncheck the option, it contacts netwu.com which is web provider, port 80 is just usual http access like a browser http://www.netwu.com/newspro/version_r.htm . i don't run a server to check piracy like most other software and it will be the case in the future, not only because it is useless in the first place, just i guess doing such a thing would make me sick
