I currently use two servers. The server from my ISP with unlimited DL and high bandwidth and a free astraweb account with a 80MB/day limit.
The astraweb server I only use to locate missing parts on my ISP's server.
So I have suppress get headers on for the Astraweb server.
Mostly I use XPAT groups and the watch/auto functionality.
If I have 'ignore suppress headers for search groups' ON then NewsPro will download from the Astraweb all parts that happen to be on that server before they reach my ISP's server. There goes my DL limit...
If I turn 'ignore...groups' OFF and after a day or so I find that certain parts will never reach my ISP's server, then there is no easy way to check for the missing parts on the Astraweb server.
Therefor I request the following functionality:
When I specifically select a server from the list of attached servers for a XPAT group, I select 'get headers' from the right mouse menu, that it will override the suppress headers option for that server and get the headers for that group.
At the moment this does nothing.
This would make my life just a few clicks easier.

Feature REQ: Override suppress get headers
"ignore supress headers for xpat groups" was added after 'suppress headers' and is already a vague sounding phrase. i understand it is maybe somewhat logical to ignore this when getting new headers is applied to selected servers, but i'm not sure all but a few will understand what it means and even less people will use it, so maybe just to live with 3 more clicks - doubleclicking the server, checking/unchecking the box and pressing 'ok'.

Just one last comment before I let go (after all you are the boss here
- several threads on the forum about 'ignore get header...' and settings per (XPAT) group are from people with free and pay servers that can not get the optimal configuration without having to change server options or de/at-taching servers. It would really improve the situation for them.
- maybe not many people would use the feature, but also no one would use it while expecting it to do something else. They would use the get headers from the group menu.
- Actually it is a bit worse than 3 clicks. If I want to use the auto/watch function in other groups, I can not enable get headers for my pay server.
I have to detach the pay server from the groups I want to use the auto function. Then when I want to use the pay server for a certain group I must attach all servers, then detach other servers and get new headers.
Of course I do not know the work involved in making it work theway I proposed.
...before I forget. I really like the program. I have been looking for the Alt-K functionality so long, I almost got tears in my eyes when I ran into NewsPro. Great thinking!

I'm afraid I have to agree with Peter that this will be a great improvement of the program. I also tried to get headers this way from a server which I set to supress get headers, because I suspected it to work. Now it's some kind of hussle to detach the server from all other search groups and then de-activate supress get headers. Then get the headers from this one server and activate and attach the server agian to all the other newsgroups.
So, I also think this function will be a great one. Hope in a future version you will implement it.
