Hello,
this was a handy function in NewsPro that saves a step. Now I have to Open the newsgroups, then choose Get New Headers.

i don't know about this specific option but it is possible we'll come back to further reconsider ue options given the newspro option set (it is already pretty close though, maybe what makes more sense now is ue specific topics) of what makes sense and is being requested, just right now i've entered the usenet indexing topic, and it doesn't have any direct connection to ue, i'm only reusing ue libraries since they were designed to be generic, so it is not clever to change anything in the program right now, especially more intricated issues (unlike open&get headers of course) since some thinking should be on the subject for some time otherwise there is a higher probability bugs might be introduced.

I agree, this would be nice to have in UE... but it's not a real "biggie", I'm sure there are other more important things that need doing in UE...

I would also like to see this feature return.
