hi,
this is a newbie question for the unpack unrar function. somehow unpack/unrar/join does not work automatically. respective files from an nzb are downloaded into UE. But they are never saved automatically into a specific directory and or unpacked... it is obvious i miss something but i cant find what. so what are the basic setting to have a nzb downloaded and automatically save/unpacked/unrarred joined to a specific global directory?

you need to invoke download&save, see context menu, not just download (maybe you press space just to download the files?).

if you didn't change save/unpack settings (edit menu->properties->save/unpack) the rest should be done automatically, but unpack needs files to be saved, it doesn't work if you just download them into UE database without saving.

secondly check the save queue is not suspended, but then it would give you warning every time, you would notice.

i think you just download files without saving them?

well before, if i remember right, everything was downloaded and saved from the moment after i doubleclicked/opened an nzb file. then a subfolder was created with all the contained files. now this doesn't happen. auto suspend is ok. FYI, i uploaded two jpg of my settings

are you sure the files didn't expire, you dind't see any errors in the error pane to the right of the "articles" pane in the task maanger or console?

also you see the files downloaded in the import pane? if downloaded the header gets notepad-like icon - green or blue, if not there may be question sign on small empty or green square.

if you see and you open a file in the article view (e.g. by doubleclicking the header) do you see an attachment? you can doubleclick the attachment to launch e.g. winrar if it is rar?

if save queue is suspended it gives warning about it every time you trying to download&save, you need uncheck "suspend save queue" in e.g. tasks menu->suspend save queue if it is the case.

hi alex, this seems really a strange problem. files are in the import pane. notepad like icon is green. icon blue for sfv, par2. so the files did not expire as i need every time to manually invoke 'save attachment' after the download proces has completed. suspend save queue is not set. greets jgui

it seems the problem was related to the fact that my 'save' HD changed to another letter. i changed it to the former letter and all is ok now. is there anyway to reconfigure a 'save' drives in UE?

"Edit->Properties->Newsgroups->Save" There is where UE saves default and can be changed or have UE ask when downloading.
