While retrieving headers I get a Uncompress Error. It doesn't happen on all newsgroups but more frequently on the large groups.

Some background. Everything was working fine until I caught a virus. The computer went down a black hole quickly and was unable to recover. Removed the hard drive and hooked it to another computer and back up all my data and the entire UE Directory to my NAS. Reinstalled the hard drive in the original computer and set it back to factory default conditions. Installed all windows updates, virus checker ect. Copied UE off the NAS drive and ran it. My problem began at this point.

I'm thinking it may be some kind of file permissions problem. If I uncheck Support Compressed Headers it continues with no problem. Although I never let it completely finish. I also tried deleting the database while saving my Settings Directory and starting over but the error still occurs.

Running Windows Vista Home Premium Service Pack 2. Astraweb is my news server and using the latest version of UE.

Any thoughts?

it might be your antivirus settings (virus checker), if you don't use SSL can you try to connecto to SSL server to see whether the problem is gone or not? or disable NNTP traffic scan by antivirus.

I disabled NNTP traffic scan in my Avast anti virus and everything works perfect!
