Lately I've been seeing a problem which is when I select a single file to download (a couple of MB) it'll hang midway every time. I have to close UE and restart and then the download restarts too and most of the time finishes. Sometimes it'll take multiple tries until the whole file is downloaded. What could be the problem? Using UE 2.5.2 on Windows 7. On other machines I don't have this problem. Thanks.

can you cancel the download task from the task manager, articles pane, or it stays there and also UE cannot exit promptly, so it only exits after displaying "Shutdown - Aborting tasks" for some time?

if so it must be some driver, maybe buggy firewall or antivirus, do you have firewall installed on that computer? if antivirus maybe try to set it not to analyze incoming nntp traffic.

doublecheck you don't have the same issue on other computers (especially if tasks cancelled normally and UE retries after read timeout), it might be server problem as well.

It was the firewall. I had to delete and recreate the rule and now it works. Thanks.
