Default Attachments Problem

Old computer gave up the ghost. Since loading UE 3.5 on new computer, Attachments remain in greyscale after I have downloaded them. They used to disappear as they were downloaded. What did I do wrong?

edit menu->properties->save/unpack, save.
check "delete headers"
by default maybe it only deletes article bodies and marks them read so they are greyed.
