I was on usenetserver and the 423 errord did make me crazy.
because there were much more troubles with that server I moved to astraweb.
There are also too mucht 423 errors.
I did read somewhere it was something in NewsPro.
Is there something I can do about it?
Please forgive me my bad English.

423 no such article or like.

on usenetserver sometimes they have corrupted server index. newspro can handle it but for xpat groups you need to use the special form of search group name introduced lately:

##<newsgroup name> for searching in the newsgroup

astraweb doesn't have such a problem, but they had another universal problem - the index is not synchronized with the server so server may return older articles that don't exist any more. i don't know whether they fixed it.

also (non-related) you should invoke 'get new headers' or 'rescan headers' (the latter if the server may delete headers out of order), so expired headers will be removed from the task list.
