In the past NewsPro has always been good about notifying me when a newer version was available.
v3.73 never popped up a message that v3.74 was available,

I found out when I came to the forum to report a problem that appears to have been fixed in v3.74.

i didn't set the update notice, the reason is that 3.74 was only a fix for a bug in power post, at the moment i was working on a difficult problem, if then i let myself to cool off most probably i would just put a fix on the forum as a reply instead of changing the release number. i was planning to add something before the next release and when it is finished i'll set the update flag as usual.
so as to v3.74 i thought that a bug in some other program should not result in bombing all newspro users with the update notification, also given that a release will be pending.

Ah, OK that makes sense.
The problem I was going to report that appears to be fixed now, is that when NewsPro is running it appears to interfere with Microsoft's Virtual PC 2004's console causing it to lock up. As soon as NewsPro exits the Virtual PC console immedeately un-freezes.
But with v3.74 the problem doesn't seem to occur any more, but that was only one occurance that it didn't cause a problem. May check it out again later.

no, it should be something else, i don't think newspro could cause that since an pure application process is completely isolated from the system.
check whether it is correlated with other activity (for example does it happen only when there is network activity), something in the system mode - possibly third party driver - may lock any task (and newspro itself doesn't have anything running there).
