Hello Alex. After searching each newsgroup I subscribe to (Each Day) headers that I do not want I delete and and after I am finished reading through each group I close them and reopen them in order to purge.Is there a way to just mark headers read or old and then close the group and reopen and the headers purge that way.

only deleted headers are purged, you can select read headers through message filter dialog or filter and then delete them. to purge headers without reopening you can use edit menu->purge deleted headers (shift+Z)
