Oh dear, I subscribed to various newsgroups at the same time and let it roll overnight i.e NewsPro to go and get headers for all of them. The next morning, my PC was suffering with hypothermia and had frozen with a message; 'Database is too large.....bla bla bla' and had stoppped getting new headers. Only half the job done.

How can I increase the database size or have a number of databases with various groups assigned to them?

bla bla was about to set the fixed database size, currenty one instance can contain about 4 millions of headers for such a case.

also you can set last headers or retention to limit the number of headers in the database or run several instances (see web site).

the number of headers most proabaly eventually will be increased, but there is a limit for 32 bit Windows because of the limited address space - maybe 10-12 millions of headers for the average header data for the present usenet reality.
