i'm not sure, here is something i have here from teranews reply to an user about some other issue:
"Yes, the no such article is due to the message-id issue. Update your
client to the newest version as I believe it sends the group command
before requesting the article which will solve 90% of the problem.
On the XPAT note, we do not support that command. It was an error on our part that it is currently working. That command will be disabled on the
next server restart.

I don't know why they are shrinking the command set.
