Search Kill Filters

I've been using UE for and have been trying to use an Author Kill Filter but can't get it to work.
I try to set it up but once I activate the filter all search results go not just the author I'm trying to kill.
I just can't figure out what I'm doing wrong in the setup of the filters.

Hi,
I believe you can't put a kill filter while invoking the search function, but you can filter the search results.
Basically, you need to create a "view filter", preferably with a Negation and set it as the "Initial filter" for the "Searche service" in Propreties -> Newsgroups and you are done.

you can add to every search ^.... separated with space or & depending whether it is "all words" or "boolean wildmat" setup (edit menu->properties->search/import).

but you can also set initial filter for the search service edit menu->properties->newsgroups or use view filter or quick filter.
