Feature Request - Closing Tabs

Post by The Cat »

Hi Alex,
With the latest 1.1 version I no longer use Newspro anymore because UE is much better. Thanks for al your work. But I have a feature request. Could you make a close view (with the right mouse button) on the window tabs? Now i have to switch everytime in the workspace to open views to close a view. I would be very nice to do that with the right mouse button on the tab.
With regards,

Ronald

You can use the "X" button in the upper-right corner of each view (just above the vertical scroll bar) to close the view just as you would close it if it were a window. Would this do what you want?

Thx, it is exactly what I want. I just did not notice them 8) . But I still think the right mouse button would be a bit more intuitive. The close button is way off to the right of the screen. But maybe it is just something you have to get used to.
But can you tell me what the two triangles are there for. I would have thought is was for cycling between tabs, but that was not right.
I could not notice anything happening. Or am I blind again

Honestly, I thought the two little triangles/arrows were for cycling through the tabbed views, as well. But, you are right - they don't do that. :?: I really don't know what they're for to be honest. :?

Long, Long ago I suggested that double-clicking the tab would close it
maxthon (IE2) uses this. alex was working on bigger things at the time
so I forgot about it and got used to the current way UE works.

my 2 cents

The Two Little Triangles are there to cycle through your groups, when you open enough groups to fill the entire tab bar.
eg. open about 10 groups with longish names when they display in tabbed form and they go off the screen the arrows let you scroll backward and forward so you can see them.

Ahh...that makes sense. I never use that feature because I never open that many individual groups at once (most of mine are combined in folders).

Thanks, Invader.

Thanks, just before I read this post I came to the same conclusion because one of the triangles turned black when I opened a lot of views.
But thanks for solving the mystery.

A "Double click" is an "OPEN" type funciton, Lets not use it to "Close" :)

Convention rules :)
