[REQ] Save to newsgroup-name-based subfolders

Post by sergeymen »

I feel that it would be very useful to be able to have NewsPro save attachments in folders that correspond to group names - i.e. to have it automatically create a folder for the specific newsgroup and put the attachments from that newsgroup into that folder, then same for the other groups.

The user should be able to specify the main folder, where the newsgroup-name subfolders will be created.

This should be a very useful way of keeping track of your downloads.

What do people think?

I prefer to download manually.. and then save to new directory that I name myself.. and thus put what I download in directory that I know what it is.

you can associate whatever directories you want on per newsgroup basis in properties->newsgroups (the browse button), if you like them to be newsgroup names no problem.

The way newspro works right now by setting Default folder for each Group/Sub folder, then allowing the user to create a new folder within each folder if ASK is checked is the Best there is to keep track of what is what.

But what if Alex is able to put in something that NewsGrabbler/Zeonews was working one before it when down, is right clicking the .par/.sfv or any part of so and so header and the function to Auto Tag files of the same set. But wait i want more!

Right now after setting a default folder to each Group/Subfolder and uncheck "ASK" every thing you download within that group/folder goes there without questions asked, Now if there is anyway to give NewsPro the new function of using the .sfv/.par file to auto highlight/download the set Maybe it could also Auto create the folder within the predefinded folder using the filename of abcd_efg_hijk (abcd efg-hijk.par/.sfv) :)

Can this be done Alex?

In most cases it would be possible, as to now there are more desirable additions I would like to work on first, I'm thinking about checking the issue afterwards.
