I've got a dual processor system. It doesnt appear that newspro takes advantage of it like other multi-threaded applications do. Also, when I'm doing heavy tasks in newspro, some of which take lots of computer cpu time, I occasionally like to view what processes are running and how much cpu attentio...

I've got a newsfeeds account.. I know your pain when trying to get headers from all 20 somthing servers they've got... newspro crashed on me quite a bit before i got the hang of things. I've found that if I just limit the servers that get headers to a couple I get much less database crashes now. I h...

One server and every newsgroup on that server? Oh my! That would result in lots and lots of server side processing. From what I understand with XPAT searches, is that the server only searches one group at a time. When you type in several groups in the XPAT dialog box, its just telling newspro to iss...

Newsfeeds does N-O-T support XPAT in A-N-Y way period. Ok, took me all this time to figure it out....So hopefully the next Newsfeeds customer will not have to go through the same hell I have been through. I'm a subscriber to newsfeeds. I do XPAT searches all the time. I make a new group and start i...

if I catch newspro using too much system resources I press F10. I dunno exactly what it does... minimizes HD swaping by putting all the stuff it needs in RAM. I'm pretty sure then it clears the stuff it doesnt need from RAM to increase free resources.

Give it a try

Think I figured it out... If purging is disabled When I delete a header they only way to see it again would be to click the "view deleted" and then ALT+J the header to undelete it.. If purging is enabled After I delete a header theres no way to get it back unless I first disable purging an...

theres a checkbox called "negation" in the filter editor and filter window. it causes the filter to look for the opposite of whats in the search box. Subject contains Dog | Cat (negation checkbox not checked) will result in the filter grabbing everything with Dog or Cat in the subject line...

Hi I've read though the help file and newspro website help pages a few dozen time yet I'm still not fully comprehending what Newspro is doing exactly when I tell it to delete, purge, or reset and how it affects XPAT searching This past week, I've been experimenting with different newspro settings to...

i see what you mean if someone had several newsgroup windos open at once. that makes a much more complicated thing.. dont worry about it. instead of closing the open newsgroup, i'll CTRL+SHIFT+W and look for the one with the "Open Book" icon. then open the next one and close the previous o...

i know about the shortcut keys already implemented (at least those in the help file and on the website) I dont see one in there that will move from the current newsgroup to the next newsgroup on the list. Maybe its worded different or somthing. Not a big deal. :-) Just an idea. I've got a list of li...

[REQ] Some new shortcut keys

Hi. I was a long time Forte Agent user, until about 2 months ago when my news service announced that their news server software didnt like Forte Agent and suggested I use Newspro.. So i switched.. And I really like Newspro. I miss a few things that I had gotten used to in Agent. 1. A shortcut key to...
