thanks for your fast response I'm not using a software firewall (win98) this system is behind an Hardware NAT-Router (Belkin type F5D7230-4 firmware 3.00.08 wifi lan router) I'm only using this machine for usenet downloading on a remote controled basis, maybe I need to map some ports to this machine...

Hi Alex, thank's for this great newsreader, I've been using newspro for over 3 years now and I still think it's one of the best newsreaders around :D :D Now here's my problem: Lately I'm getting a lot of [gethostbyname] errors this error doesn't stay with 1 server but changes between servers one day...
