After upgrading from 2.84 (x64) to 2.9 (x64) I noticed that a lot of downloaded files were corrupt (quickpar). After downgrading to 2.82 I downloaded the same files again and they were OK. any ideas?

If the difference in behaviour persists it may be be antivirus, try to reenter UE in the antivirus definitions (e.g. executable changed and a buggy antivirus started scanning UE traffic or database files).
If you tried only one time it still may be antivirus or temporary problem with news server (less likely), try to ensure you can reproduce that repeatedly.
The related code in v2.8.2. and v2.9 is identical and there are no other such complaints.
