I am trying to create a filter by SIZE, now it says Predicate (KB) I am assuming this is kilobytes. I went to the bit calculater and enter 4 GB, when it converts this to 4194304, and I enter that number UE will change it to ALL. Now if I want the Size filter to only download if it matches 4 GB, is this the size that is listed in the Size column on my workspace?
Thanks

Re: Filters
watch/kill filters don't apply to collections, they only deal with single and partial headers. view filters do apply to collections.
in filter editor it appears 4000000 is the current limit, maybe it could be made internally 1000 times more since it is kilobytes and apparently 4 bytes are using to store the value.

Re: Filters
If I have a kill filter for an Author, your saying that it doesn't apply to a Collection? It seemed that it was working on Collections, The Collections by that Author was never shown.alex wrote:watch/kill filters don't apply to collections, they only deal with single and partial headers. view filters do apply to collections.

I have Watch Filters looking for Subject: Hanna, which would be in a collection, it finds them for me, so I know that is working on Collections. I might not be understanding you right.
Well they are working as of now, I just wanted to add a Size Filter to the Composit, to only download a collection greater than 4 GB.
Thank you Alex
Re: Filters
I mean for watch/kill filters rather apply to every file in the collection, just in most (but not all) cases it is the same as they were applied to the collection record itself.
Re: Filters
OK I have it, is there anyway to limit the total size of a collection to watch for, if it doesn't meet this size skip it?alex wrote:I mean for watch/kill filters rather apply to every file in the collection, just in most (but not all) cases it is the same as they were applied to the collection record itself.
example: I am looking for movie called The Wrong Way, well UE will find them, but most are .EXE or single files which are virus infected.
Any ideas?
Great program....
Thank you
Re: Filters
if in view you can sort by size from highest to smallest size and look at the top of the list, or exclude .exe files in the filter.
also e.g. if most collections have file numbers [{0-9}*/{0-9}*] *.rar and spam doesn't you can filter those single .rar files out as well and then from time to time check the newsgroup which you may missed in the watch.
