Re-Request Feature or Work-Around

Post by Gary Gnews »

Hello all,

I had requested this in the past and would still really benefit if it were possible.

I would like to be able to change the priority of pending downloads that are marked for later download and suspended.

I have low priority filters set up, and any "hits" are marked for later download and suspended so that I can "filter" them manually. However, if I only want to download some of the bodies, I either have to move those headers to the top and unsuspend the downloading, or I have to find the headers in their groups/folders and tag them manually.

The reason this is a problem is because I often fail to re-suspend later downloads, so any headers that are collected from then on using filters are downloaded in full.

If I could just right click on selected headers marked for later download under the "downloads" tabs WHILE THEY ARE SUSPENDED and change the priority, that would provide and ideal solution to this problem.

Thanks in advance for any replies!

there is already such an option but it is not connected to the downloads tab.

if you select queued articles in a header view (you may invoke edit menu->global view and then check "queue" to see only all queued downloads) and invoke "advanced->download with priority", then it will retain the save path but will change the download priority.

i may add the same option to the downloads pane in addition to "move to top", at least i'll change "move to top" so it will bring the article out of the mark for download later priority range, i didn't realize it may be not always the case.

right now i'm working with a project copy to check potential new developments, so i need to make changes in two projects in parallel to provide consistency and most what i applied this way were only few fixes after issues which had been reported here (but "move to top" which will always unsuspend downloads qualifies here for sure as to the rest i've added a note in planned features, but i may add it shortly as well).

Thanks Alex...if "move to top" unsuspended articles in the download tab, that would make me a very happy UE user. :)
