Alex,
Not sure where to start looking, but I currently have a cable modem connection, and run NewsPro with little incident. After installing a Linksys router, NewsPro seems to run sluggishly. It tries to retrieve articles, and then never recieves anything back from the newsserver.
I am sure there are no problems with your program, but if you could direct me as to where to adjust settings, etc, I would be eternally grateful.
Thanks for your help, and an outstanding product.
Steven
Home Network setup causes problems with NewsPro
it is difficult to say.
as to network access newspro doesn't differ much from telnet, so if
telnet <server name> 119
connects - newspro will connect too etc.
all hardware installs are beyond newspro awareness (the level below winsock is transparent), if all installed correctly maybe to restart the computer, check with telnet that there is a server response, e.g.
telnet news.microsoft.com 119
mode reader

(once after every command)

Problem resolved.
1) Manual setup for cable modem/roadrunner to enable mac address cloning.
2) Remove Zonealarm Pro as firewall protection is redundant with the router in place. (NB I had no problems with zonealarm & Newspro prior)
So far so good.......
Alex, Thank you for your speedy reply.
Peace,
Steven
