Topic says it all.
I haven't found a setting to do this. I have set groups "initial or auto load mode" to "load", and it indeed loads the groups on start just fine. I have also set "max groups" in headers settings to 9999.
However, as soon as I get headers UE starts saving and unloading the groups, forcing me to load them yet AGAIN to do anything with the headers I just downloaded.
As it now is "initial or auto load mode" "load" currently is an absolutely useless option. I distinctively remember this not always being so...
Unnecessary disc trashing when UE is unresponsive too.
What option have I missed?
How can I force newsgroups to stay loaded?
Empty the max groups field (or set it to zero, it is shown as empty then).
Then it won't unload loaded newsgroups automatically, automatic unload is governed by max groups only and it won't try to keep just max groups, it will rather not allow more than max groups and will keep minimal number of groups loaded unloading those which are not open when it is proper thing to do.
I will put a note in properties->tasks in the next version for clarity.
The initial load mode is irrelevant, unless you just want to load newsgroups on start.
