Also, neither am I terribly wise regarding network connections on Windows OS -
So, is it possible some new configuration state in version 2.7.2.0 of Usenet Explorer is causing amount of Bytes Sent versus Bytes Received (as shown on ISP Connection Status properties sheet) to be balanced the wrong way?
Yes, I'm aware, and appreciate UE program has, to date, left a tiny footprint (id est Windows Registry). Has this changed with UE 2.7.2?
I do know normally Bytes Received number should always be many times greater than Bytes Sent number. This is the still true until I open UE. The opposite then happens, and all new data becomes unreachable. I reinstalled older version of UE, but problem remains.
If no one knows of possible unwelcome surprises in UE 2.7.2 I'll close by asking if anyone is aware of new bandwidth limits by Verizon DSL (northeastern US). I am prepared to seek a new ISP if the answer is a definitive yes. The present situation will not do.
Thanks much.
ISP will not admit bandwidth cap, hence my query;
If you mean TCP data bytes received/sent, what is sent when you download (not posting something) is very little - if downloads proceed normally, e.g. if on every command the server returns "Authentication error" or "No such article" the amount of bytes sent will be of the same order as the amount of bytes received, with overall bandwidth pretty small.
What do you mean by "all new data becomes unreachable" and "ISP Connection Status properties sheet". Is it some kind of local problem / panel respectively?
Maybe to try to reset router, check it is not third party antivirus/firewall issue, or some temporary problem with the news server (check console panel in tasks menu->task manager, console, maybe you'll see errors returned by the server of the kind I've outlined above.
If it is not all that try to describe the problem in more detail, maybe also someone who understands better what you mean will reply as well.
Generally nothing changed with v2.7.2 as to network behaviour and as to not using registry, nothing supernatural had been introduced either.
