Can I use a (composite) filter for searching?
I regulary check for certain things and would like to click a filter to start a search.
If that's possible is there also an option to include and exclude certain newsgroups in the search?
Search using (composite) filters
Re: Search using (composite) filters
There is no translaton done, you can apply the filters to search results though (but not pass the filter to the search server).
But search service supports boolean wildmats with subject/author and it shows previous search patterns in the combo box, so you can accumulate previous searches there, although there is no means of editing the list right now except for clear history.

Re: Search using (composite) filters
I understand Alex.
Personally, as a user, I don't really care if seach can handle all filter parameters.
If I can apply a filter to the search results that's good enough for me
I hope you can consider the functionality for a future UE version.

Re: Search using (composite) filters
You can apply filters to search results, the toolbar filter combo box is enabled, you can select any view filter you created.
There is also group kill filter in edit menu->properties->search/import, search service, this one is relayed to search service.
